G.Katamadze informed the Ukrainian Party about the political situation in Georgia. The Ambassador also expressed his willingness to promote relations between the parliamentary groups of friendship of both countries.
B.Tarasiuk, Head of the Deputy Group on Inter-Parliamentary Liaison with Georgia, informed the Georgian Party about the scope of work scheduled for Year 2009. He suggested sharing experience in the integration to the European Union and the NATO. The Committee Chairman deems reasonable to hold meetings of the representatives of the Groups of Friendship within the scope of consultations between the European integration /foreign affairs committees of the European neighbourhood policy participating States. According to B.Tarasiuk, such consultations will be held due to the establishment of the Parliamentary assembly EU-Eastern Partners (EURONEST) in the second half of May 2009.
The Parties also discussed political situation in Ukraine, current conditions and prospects of development of Ukrainian-Georgian relations.
